I was big but I was a true gentleman |
A TRIBUTE TO BO Bo (AKC name Augie's Bo) was born May 8, 1993 on a farm by Hawley, MN, and he became a permanent resident of the Pleasant Acres Ranch in June of that same year. We acquired a mate for Bo a couple weeks later in ND. She was two weeks younger than Bo and we named her Belle. Bo & Belle were wonderful companion dogs and their offspring has been sold throughout the USA. Bo was a large framed, muscular guy weighing over 120 pounds in his prime, and he loved to hunt upland birds. They both claimed special places in our hearts, and we have found that it is very difficult to watch animals cycle through their life much faster than we do. From furry puppies, to beautiful adults, and on to old age in only 12 1/2 years. It was a sad day in October of 2005 when we dug a deep, straw lined grave by our campfire pit in the campground area, and laid them to rest in each other's arms forever. We kept a female from their last litter, Rosie, who had her last litter in October of 2007. She is also now gone, so all we have as a reminder of these two wonderful dogs are two grandsons of Bo and Belle. They are 4 and a half years old as this is updated in February of 2012.
