The Pleasant Acres Ranch has raised Polled Hereford cattle for over 50 years, and we have a purebred Polled Hereford cow herd. We buy the best maternal Angus bulls available to breed with these cows to produce exceptional F1 black baldy heifers (the most efficient cross-bred mother cow of the upper plains) . Our goal is to produce black baldies for the commercial rancher that will breed back quickly and wean over 50% of her body weight without creep or extra care. We have 120 to 150 of these F1 Black Baldy heifers for private treaty sale at the ranch annually. The past three years our Black Baldy steers from this breeding program have gotten lots attention from the buyers at Kist Livestock Auction in Mandan and Farmers Livestock in Bismarck, ND the last week of January.
