The Deepwater Bay Bed & Breakfast overlooks some of the finest outdoor recreation opportunities in the upper
Midwest. Step down the hill from your cozy room, and you will be standing at the shores of Deepwater Bay on Lake Sakakawea, known as one of the nation's premier walleye fishing destinations. A stroll in the opposite direction provides the opportunity to explore hundreds of acres of privately owned coulees and prairie. Teepee rings can be found nearby, and the area is rich with Native American and fur trade culture and history. Hidatsa, Mandan, Arikara, Sioux, and Assiniboine tribes called this area home, and the Assiniboine often wintered in the bottomlands near the ranch or in nearby White Earth Valley. The ranch is located on the Lewis and Clark trail, and the expedition was in this area on their way west and again on their return. Lewis and Clark's Corp of Discovery spent the winter of 1804 nearby at their hastily constructed Fort Mandan, downstream from Deepwater Creek near the Knife River Indian Villages.

Accommodations
The Deepwater Bay Bed & Breakfast is a modern Bed & Breakfast only a few miles
south of Parshall, North Dakota. It is part of a working farm and ranch overlooking Lake Sakakawea. Guests have several options.....many choose to stay in private bedrooms in the main residence and enjoy home cooked meals. Others prefer to rent a
three bedroom guest house
or the two bedroom bunkhouse, both complete with a kitchen where they can do their own cooking
if they so desire. Two fully self-contained (including showers) fifth-wheel campers
may also be rented set up in the campground area of our yard which has a lined campfire pit
and a restroom with shower. All guests can enjoy the remainder of the ranch. Evenings often bring impromptu amateur jams, complete with guitar, piano, and violin music - so join in if you enjoy picking and singing.
All inside facilities including the main house, guest house, campers
are non-smoking for the comfort of our guests.
A heated garage is available for guest use. We have a corral for those who want to bring their own horses for trail riding in the area. Dogs can be accommodated upon request.
